Good morning St Mary's!

We are very grateful for donations we hope to receive this week on the lead up to Harvest.

All items donated will be greatly received and we ask that you do not go out of your way to buy donations – please just re-gift things you have at home that may go to waste otherwise!

Thank you.

Harvest Festival: Food Pantry St. Mary's Centre - Food Bank Collection As we near the Harvest Festival, our thoughts are with those who find trying to stretch the budget and afford food and essential household items a challenge. As you know, St. Mary’s are proud to support the St. Mary's Centre. It is on their behalf that we once again seek your help and generosity to provide various food, for those who rely on the food bank, to ease the burden at this time of year. During this week commencing Monday 29th September until Friday 3rd October, there will be a collection point each morning at the entrance to our school gate for donations of the following items, which the school will send directly to this most worthy cause within our community: ·       Toilet roll ·       Toiletries ·       Tinned meat and fish ·       Tinned vegetables / chopped tomatoes ·       Tea ·       Coffee ·       Sugar ·       Christmas treats ·       Chocolate biscuits ·       Child’s sweet treats With grateful thanks in anticipation of your kind generosity. Dear Reception class Parents,

As you know, we are planning to hold our 'Beach Day' on Thursday 17th July to finish off our 'Travel Round the World' & holidays learning. Your child may come to school wearing beach clothes for the day to help us celebrate!

As we reflect on the year gone by, I would like to share with you all that I have felt honoured to teach your children this term. I shall miss them all very much and I have had so much fun teaching your children this Summer Term. I feel honoured to see the progress they have all made and know you will all feel very proud of them.

I have a family commitment which means that I will sadly miss the last 3 days of this Term. This was a commitment that was already planned before I joined St Mary's this year. The class will be led by Mrs King and a supply teacher called Mrs Adrianna Veale from Friday 18th to 22nd July. Mrs Veale will have all learning plans ready to teach for the children on these days.

We will be enjoying some splashing & water games if it is warm outside, so please could you send in spare set of clothes in case we get messy!  Please put on sun cream for the day as we will be spending lots of time outside (unless it is really hot and we will come in to keep cool) We will plan to have ice lolly treats too!  We will also use the day to celebrate the children's fantastic learning over the year, before they start their journey into Year 1.

If you have any questions about Beach Day please respond on weduc or the Butterfly Class email address or speak to Mrs King or I at the gate in the morning or at collection. Thank you all for all your support over the last Term it is much appreciated.

School finishes at 1:15pm on the 22nd July. I hope you and your families have a lovely break.

Mrs Reid
